The woman’s friends, who often quarreled with their husbands, were continuously amazed by her and frequently sought her advice: Tell us – they would say – your husband is no saint, yet you live together harmoniously. How can we also live without fighting with our husbands? You see – the woman replied – you are to blame for those quarrels yourselves. When your husbands angrily say something to you, you immediately get angry and respond with anger. When I see that my husband is angry, I never provoke him but pray to the God to restore peace and tranquility in my husband’s heart. When my husband sees that I do not contradict him and have no intention of fighting, he calms down. After all, God Himself teaches us not to repay evil with evil.
