“Perspective To Persistence” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that 1 cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner. ” Nehemiah 6:2-4 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is easy to lose perspective when fighting spiritual battles in the trenches. One of the greatest encouragements in ministry is having the right perspective. We are reminded of this principle in reading the account of Christopher Wren, the man who designed St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. One day, he visited the construction site and walked among the workers unrecognized. He asked the men what they were doing. One said, “I’m cutting stone.” Another said, “I’m making a certain amount of money each day.” Still another man said, “I’m helping Christopher Wren build a magnificent cathedral to the glory of God!” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perspective matters, does it not? What we do in the Lord’s work is extremely important. Perhaps this is why Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:6-7, “Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
