I won\u2019t have to hear my dad complain anymore,\u201d he thought.As he was leaving, his father gave him some advice:\u201cAnswer every question with confidence. Even if you don\u2019t know the answer, speak with certainty.\u201dAnd then\u2026 gave him more money than necessary for the interview.When he arrived at the interview center, he noticed there was no security at the entrance.The door was wide open\u2014swinging outward and possibly disturbing people passing by.He closed it gently and stepped inside.On both sides of the path, he saw beautiful flowers, but the gardener had left the hose running.Water was spilling everywhere.He adjusted the hose and placed it where the plants actually needed watering.There was no receptionist, but a note said:\u201cInterview upstairs.\u201dHe walked up slowly\u2026The lights in the staircase were still on, even though it was 10 a.m.\u2014probably since the night before.He remembered his dad\u2019s voice:\u201cWhy are you leaving the room with the lights on?\u201dAnnoyed, yet thoughtful, he looked for the switch\u2026 and turned them off.Upstairs, in a large hall, many candidates were waiting.As he stepped in, he noticed the Welcome doormat was upside down.With a slight sigh, he fixed it.Old habits die hard&#8230;He saw the front seats were full while the ones in the back were empty.Several fans were blowing over empty chairs.Once again, his dad\u2019s voice echoed in his mind:\u201cWhy are the fans on where no one is sitting?\u201dHe turned off the unnecessary fans and sat in the back.Candidate after candidate entered and left through another door\u2014nobody knew what was being asked.Finally, it was his turn.He walked in nervously.The interviewer took his papers but didn\u2019t even look at them.He asked:\u201cWhen can you start?\u201dHe froze.\u201cWait\u2026 Is this a trick question? Or\u2026 is he really offering me the job?\u201dThe interviewer noticed his hesitation and said:\u201cWondering why we\u2019re not asking questions? Because we don\u2019t believe questions reveal a person\u2019s true nature.We believe in observing people\u2019s actions.\u201d\u201cWe tested everyone through surveillance cameras. Only one person closed the door, fixed the hose, turned off the lights, straightened the doormat, and shut off the fans.\u201d\u201cThat person\u2026 was you. That\u2019s why you\u2019re hired.\u201dIn that moment, he realized that everything his father had taught him made sense.All the discipline he once resented\u2026 was what helped him get his first job.The irritation vanished.He smiled\u2014grateful\u2014and decided:\u201cI\u2019m bringing Dad with me. We\u2019ll live together.\u201d&#8212;Everything our parents tell us is for our good.
