Charlie Kirk has been and continues to be referred to as a Christian martyr. But is this true?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Language has never been more dumbed-down than now. The lowest of Hollywood low life and the most immoral and corrupt people in government are foolishly referred to as \u201cnational treasures,\u201d \u201clegends,\u201d and \u201cicons,\u201d and prominent sports figures are called \u201cheroes.\u201d In reality, they were<\/em> and are<\/em> nothing of the sort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMartyr\u201d is another word often used carelessly and unwarrantedly. For some perspective on how this word has been historically\/traditionally understood, consider the following entry in Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary, <\/em>where a \u201cmartyr\u201d is defined as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSomeone who suffers death for their faith or principles, or a person who sacrifices their life in defense of a cause. The verb form means to be put to death for one’s beliefs. The word has an etymological connection to “witness,” as in the phrase, “To be a martyr signifies only to witness the truth of Christ.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, is Charlie Kirk a Christian martyr? I think so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many believe Mr. Kirk was murdered because of his positions on political and social issues. I don\u2019t. Many conservative \u201cvoices\u201d who claim to be Christians are heavy<\/em> on politics and light<\/em> on Christianity. Charlie Kirk was the opposite. Biblical Truth predominated almost<\/em> all, if not all<\/em>, of what he had to say on political or social issues. In addition to this, his personal life in and out of the spotlight was winsomely and powerfully attractive to lost people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evidence suggests that, first and foremost, Charlie Kirk was murdered because of how vocal and effective he was in relating issues to, and evaluating them on the basis of, what God has said in His Word. I believe he was murdered because of the spiritual authenticity that could be seen in his life. I believe the motivation behind his murder, and the celebration of it now by the Left was<\/em> and is<\/em> the same motivation that resulted in the first murder in recorded history:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother\u2019s were righteous. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.\u201d \u2014<\/em>1 John 3:12, 13<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as the witness<\/em> Charlie Kirk\u2019 had during his lifetime shouldn\u2019t be ignored, neither should the warning<\/em> in his death be ignored \u2014 \u2018Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The simple truth is that \u201cEvil,\u201d working through fallen and radicalized human agency; evil, fallen to the level of those who are \u201cincontinent, fierce, and despisers<\/strong> of those that are good\u201d (2 Tim. 3:3); evil that had metastasized in the heart and mind of his killer into an incomprehensibly insensible and murderous hatred is what motivated the murder of Charlie Kirk<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same evil at work on a rooftop in Utah on September 10th<\/sup>. is now metastasizing all over America, and ready to go to work in the same murderous way, focused on the same type of target, with the same incomprehensible, insensible and murderous hatred for people who share faith and principles like those held by Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlie Kirk wasn\u2019t perfect in his every deed while here in the flesh. None of us are. Doctrinally, he didn\u2019t dot every \u201cI\u201d and cross every \u201cT\u201d perfectly. None of us do. Should he be considered a Christian martyr? I believe so, and hope that he was. Should his assassination be taken seriously as a warning to Christians in America. I think so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
