At the very core of the social and moral decay that is continuing to affect this world, is the worldly identity of marriage. Only genuine, born-again <\/a>Christians can appreciate what I am about to say and most of them will need to pray about it before they can comprehend it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God’s design for marriage is not primarily about love or romance, neither is it about meeting each others needs. Surprisingly, it is also not about sex. Sex, love, and emotions are secondary issues at best and in many cases even further down the scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marriage is about mission. In Genesis 2, God created a man and then put him in the Garden of Eden, commissioning him to dress the garden and exercise dominion over the Earth, replenishing it with other people. In essence this made Adam the god (small g, Elohim) of the world. God then created Eve to be Adam’s helper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God gave the man the mission of dressing the garden and exercising dominion over creation, and replenishing the Earth (populating it). The woman’s mission was to help the man in his mission. She was not given a different or independent mission. She could not fulfill her created purpose without a man. The man could not complete his mission without the involvement of the woman in his tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today we have the vast majority of men (Christian and otherwise) who live their lives with no idea of what God’s designed mission is for their lives. Men, remember, a woman, even the best woman cannot follow and support a husband who is not fulfilling his mission. In the same vein, we have the vast majority of women (Christian and otherwise) who have no interest in helping their husband, unless his plan is approved by them and are driven to behave and live a distinctly different and independent life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This friction, as well as obstacles, caused by both genders in this deviation from the divine design, is the root of all our social, moral, and spiritual decay. Let’s fix it, by fixing ourselves, before we attempt to repair our spouses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Men seek God for your mission and embark upon it faithfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women humble yourselves before God, as the first step in being a wife. Remember, it was God’s idea to create you as a helper. It is a glorious, wonderful, and indispensable role to play. You cannot be a submissive helper to your husband until you first make yourself submissive to God, who made you for that important task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who would argue about this, please note that you are labeling yourself as an adversary to God. This is His design and we must not, yes, cannot refute it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pray, seek God, and obey Him as He reveals in His Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
