“Losing What Little You Had”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him
which hath ten talents.” Matthew 25:28<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This part of the Olivet Discourse, as Scofield calls it, is
dramatically different than the “hand out” mentality of our
modern day. The two other servants were given either five
times as much or two times as many talents as the man with a
single talent. Those two doubled what they were given and
were met with the coveted accolade, “Well done, thou good
and faithful servant. ” Thus, being rewarded with fiefdoms to
rule over and “the joy of the Lord” to bask in!
One of the reasons for the third man’s loss and lack of
enterprise was fear (vs. 25). His burying the boon that he
began with, ended up costing him everything! He did realize
that the little he had could have doubled or had at least some
“interest” bearing success. The thing is, God knows, and He
can change things, if we will exhaust and expend our efforts in
His eternal enterprise!
One problem today is lots of Christian soldiers are firing
their gun in the barracks and wounding or even destroying
fellow soldiers, in lieu of shooting the enemy on the
battlefield! Hey, a lot of the aiming at our comrades is
ridiculous and most of the ammunition used are blanks (read
lies or exaggerations). Always remember, actions determine
destiny. If you do anything, with God’s help, it will bring
eternal dividends. Jesus said on one occasion, “I must be
about my Father’s business” and, so too should you and me.
