“Our grandparents could buy a house on one salary, but now we can\u2019t even afford rent on two!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yeah, because Grandma wasn\u2019t blowin\u2019 half her <\/a>paycheck on $12 iced coffee and avocado toast, that\u2019s why!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back then, if they wanted coffee, they made it at home. With grounds so strong it could remove rust. You didn\u2019t drink it\u2026 you survived it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And Grandma wasn\u2019t out there \u201cbrunchin\u2019.\u201d You think she had time for brunch? No! She was at home, cooking something called whatever\u2019s left in the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And don\u2019t even bring up Uber Eats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These people today are crying about money while living in a 4-bedroom house with two SUVs, six streaming services, and matching sleeve tattoos. You think Grandpa had a tattoo? Yeah it said \u201cKorea, 1951.\u201d And it came with nightmares, not realitic shading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, don\u2019t even get me started on the kids. \u201cWe can\u2019t make ends meet, but Brayden needs the new iPhone!\u201d No, he doesn\u2019t! You\u2019re giving an $1100 phone to a kid who still eats glue and boogers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we were kids, the family phone hung on the wall. It had a cord long enough to jump rope with, and if you wanted privacy, you had to go stand in the pantry. And somehow, we survived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the TV? There was one. One.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was in the living room, and Dad controlled it. If he wanted to watch bowling, guess what? You liked bowling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now every room\u2019s got a 65-inch screen, the baby\u2019s got an iPad, and you\u2019re sitting there wondering why you can\u2019t afford rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because you\u2019re living like rappers, that\u2019s why!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grandpa wasn\u2019t out here leasing Teslas and buying $12 smoothies called \u201cDetox Sunrise.\u201d He was driving a truck that sounded like thunder and smelled like oil and cigarettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They lived within their means. Whatever Grandpa\u2019s paycheck bought, that\u2019s what they had. They didn\u2019t try to keep up with the Joneses. They were just trying to keep the family fed and a roof over their heads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So yeah, Grandpa could buy a house on one salary. But he also didn\u2019t have 47 subscriptions and emotional-support crystals. He had one support system, Grandma, who told him to suck it up and mow the yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now folks are broke, tired, and stressed\u2026 and it\u2019s not because of inflation\u2026 it\u2019s because y\u2019all keep ordering tacos from DoorDash like you\u2019re royalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
