THE MODERN CHURCH AND ITS INDIFFERENCE TO FALSE DOCTRINE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many believers today are not alarmed by the spread of false doctrine because they no longer believe doctrine is dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Error no longer carries weight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It no longer sounds like a threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been softened, sanitized, and rebranded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Scripture once called deception is now dismissed as a \u201cdifference of perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the apostles warned against as heresy is now excused as \u201canother interpretation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what the Bible exposes as apostasy is defended as merely a \u201cdifferent expression of faith.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, truth is no longer something to be defended<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is now something to be negotiated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The modern Christian conscience has been trained to fear confrontation more than corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To avoid being labeled divisive, unloving, or judgmental, many believers choose silence \u2014 Even when the gospel itself is being diluted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peace has replaced purity as the highest virtue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unity is now defined as the absence of tension rather than the presence of truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And many resent the trouble truth brings, because truth disrupts comfort, exposes error, and demands repentance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But sound doctrine has never been convenient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It requires boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boundaries require exclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And exclusion is now seen as unchristian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So believers increasingly long for an atmosphere where everyone feels affirmed, even if no one is corrected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An environment where error is tolerated in the name of love, and clarity is sacrificed for comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charitable dialogue with apostates has replaced biblical rebuke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listening has replaced testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tolerance has replaced truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet Scripture does not applaud this posture<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It actually condemns it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The call of Scripture is not to passive acceptance but to active defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jude writes,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

> \u201cI found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints\u201d (Jude 3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That exhortation was written in the context of false teachers quietly infiltrating the church, distorting grace, and leading believers astray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jude did not counsel patience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He did not recommend dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He commanded resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The apostles never treated false teaching as an unfortunate disagreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They always treated it as a threat to souls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They named names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They issued warnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They commanded separation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They understood that error left unchallenged does not remain neutral<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It always multiplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet instead of contending for the faith, many believers today outsource discernment to leaders, avoid theological responsibility, and retreat into a sentimental form of Christianity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are encouraged to \u201cstay in the room\u201d no matter how corrupted the message becomes, as if proximity to error were a virtue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The great irony is that this posture is often justified as Christlike, even though Christ Himself was most confrontational with those who corrupted truth in God\u2019s name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the church now celebrates as humility, love, and maturity is often nothing more than refusal to contend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But brethren, silence in the face of evil is never neutrality<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is always complicity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When truth is assaulted and the church chooses quiet, deception is given free passage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What goes unresisted soon becomes acceptable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is left unconfronted is eventually applauded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A church that refuses to contend with error is not protecting unity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is actually violating the very charge Jude gave to the saints:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To earnestly contend for the faith once delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not peacekeeping<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is only faith-abandonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the believer who will not oppose apostasy is already being quietly discipled by it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At some point, love for peace becomes hatred for truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And tolerance, left unchanged, becomes betrayal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The church was never called to be a neutral space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was ordained to be the pillar and foundation of truth in a world bent on distortion and lies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To abandon that calling is not humility<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is abdication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the moment believers no longer feel accountable to guard the truth, false teachers no longer feel compelled to conceal themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They step into the open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They speak without restraint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They spread without resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And they thrive without opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the most effective ally of apostasy has never been persecution<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is indifference masquerading as love, apathy disguised as kindness, and silence celebrated as virtue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
