Necho tried to dissuade him in our verse with the above words. Josiah ignored the warning and as an old preacher friend of mine, Dr. Carl Lackey, used to say, &#8220;There was some slow walking and sad singing,&#8221; and he was buried!! The interesting thing to me about our verse is that Necho claimed God was with him. In our Bible if it was some heathen god, it would not have been capitalized. I do think God uses those without the framework of our faith to deal with those of us within the fold (see John 10:16) and notice He has others at His beck and call, willing to do His will\u2026 even if they don&#8217;t know they are. Another thought to ponder is sometimes He allows the pure heathen to speak volumes to His saints. You know, like the guy who cuts you off in traffic and you want to respond with a righteous form of road rage! (Does that exist?) Or the neighbor that blows leaves, in the fall on your lawn from his \u2022 trees, and snow in the winter from his yard on to your driveway. Some things are best just left alone, pasting a smile on your face, with a song in your heart and just going on!
