Twenty-Five Characteristics of a Counterfeit Bible<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Genesis 22:8: The counterfeits change \u201c. . . My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: \u201cto distort the prophesy that God would become the Lamb. The counterfeits read as, \u201cGod will provide for Himself the lamb\u201d or \u201cGod himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering\u201d. The fulfillment of Genesis 22:8 is found in John 1:29.<\/li>
  2. Isaiah 14:12: Most counterfeits confuse the Lord Jesus Christ with Lucifer. They replace the word \u201cLucifer\u201d with \u201cmorning star, day star, star of the morning\u201d. Morning star is a title reserved for the Lord Jesus in Revelation 22:16. This is also the only time the word \u201cLucifer\u201d is found in the Word of God. In Isaiah 14:15 the counterfeits do not send Lucifer to \u201chell\u201d but only to the confusing \u201cSheol\u201d, or the \u201cgrave\u201d.<\/li>
  3. Matthew 20:20: Many counterfeits remove the words \u201cworshipping him\u201d and rob worship from the Lord Jesus Christ. Some will replace \u201cworshipping him\u201d with \u201ckneeling down\u201d or \u201ckneeling before\u201d, but just simply \u201ckneeling\u201d is not worship.<\/li>
  4. Matthew 26:28: Many counterfeits replace the phrase \u201cnew testament\u201d with the generic phrase \u201cnew agreement\u201d or \u201cnew covenant\u201d. This is an obvious attack on the written Word of God. It\u2019s interesting, even though the counterfeits remove the phrase \u201cnew testament\u201d, they do not title their New Testaments as \u201cNew Agreement\u201d or \u201cNew Covenant\u201d. Why? The counterfeiters know they could not sell their counterfeit bearing the title \u201cNew Agreement\u201d or \u201cNew Covenant\u201d on the cover, so like any good counterfeiter, they disguise it.<\/li>
  5. Mark 3:29: The counterfeits change the serious consequences of blaspheming against the Holy Ghost from \u201ceternal damnation\u201d to \u201ceternal sin\u201d or \u201ceternal condemnation\u201d.<\/li>
  6. Luke 4:4: Many counterfeits remove the last half of Luke 4:4, \u201c. . . but by every word of God\u201d This is another assault on the Word of God. In Luke 4:4, the Lord Jesus Christ is quoting Deut.8:3. Do the counterfeiters believe the Lord Jesus does not know what Deut. 8:3 says?<\/li>
  7. Luke 4:8: Many counterfeits remove the words \u201cget thee behind me, Satan\u201d. Here the Lord Jesus Christ openly rebukes Satan \u2013 but the counterfeits do not rebuke Satan.<\/li>
  8. Luke 16:23: Many counterfeits refuse to translate the Greek word \u201cHades\u201d. Rather than translate \u201cHades\u201d to the word \u201chell\u201d, the counterfeit will transliterate the Greek word \u201cHades\u201d into the English \u201cHades\u201d. By this trick the counterfeit attempts to extinguish the flames of hell. Hades is not \u201chell\u201d. Hell is flames, torments, weeping and wailing, complete darkness \u2013 forever. Hades is a new-age place of purification, or a fantasy place in Greek mythology. The Assyrian Hades is an abode of blessedness with silver skies called Happy Fields.<\/li>
  9. John 4:24: Many counterfeits change \u201cGod is a spirit\u201d to \u201cGod is spirit\u201d. Removing the critical article \u201ca\u201d, the counterfeits teach an impersonal, formless, esoteric, new-age \u201cspirit god\u201d.<\/li>
  10. John 14:16: Many counterfeits change the Holy Spirit from a loving, concerned \u201cComforter\u201d to simply another \u201cHelper, Counselor\u201d.<\/li>
  11. Acts 2:47: Many counterfeits change the completed act of \u201csaved\u201d to the working, in progress \u201cbeing saved\u201d. With this change, the counterfeits deny the complete and finished salvation in the blood of Jesus Christ to a progressive, salvation by works. You are no longer \u201csaved\u201d but in the process of \u201cbeing saved\u201d. See also in 1 Corinthian 1:18 and 2 Cor. 2:15.<\/li>
  12. Acts 4:27: Many counterfeits abort the Lord Jesus Christ as the Father\u2019s \u201choly child\u201d to His \u201choly servant\u201d. A subtle (see Genesis 3:1) and clever denial of the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. The counterfeits do this again in Acts 4:30.<\/li>
  13. Acts 8:37: Some counterfeits completely remove this wonderful verse (and several others). Acts 8:37 is the Ethiopian eunuch getting saved. The counterfeits stop him from getting saved. Some counterfeits are a little more subtle. They do not remove the verse from the text, but add a footnote questioning the verse planting a seed of doubt. Sound familiar? \u201cYea, hath God said.\u201d Many counterfeits also remove: Matt 17:21,18:11,23:<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    14, Mark 7:16, 9:44, 9:46, 11:26, 15:28, Luke 17:36, 23:17, Jn 5:4, Acts 8:37, 15:34, 24:7, 28:28, Rom. 16:24 and 1 John 5:7!14. Acts 17:29: Change \u201cGodhead\u201d to the new age doctrine \u2013 \u201cDivine Nature\u201d or \u201cDivine Being\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Romans 6:22: Many counterfeits demote Christians from the voluntary, loving \u201cservants of God\u201d to cruel \u201censlaved\u201d or \u201cslaves of God\u201d. They describe my Father as a \u201cslave owner\u201d and His precious children as \u201cslaves\u201d. Contrary and wicked to the character of my loving and wonderful Heavenly Father! It\u2019s amazing because the first part of Romans 6:22 reads \u201cbeing made free from sin,\u201d and according to the counterfeits we now are slaves!<\/li>
    2. 1 Corinthians 1:21: Many counterfeits change \u201cthe foolishness of preaching\u201d to the \u201cfoolishness of what was preached\u201d or \u201cfoolishness of the message preached\u201d. The deceitful counterfeits change the object of \u201cfoolishness\u201d from the act of \u201cpreaching\u201d to the \u201cmessage\u201d of preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus. There\u2019s nothing \u201cfoolish\u201d about the \u201cmessage\u201d of Jesus Christ, it\u2019s the greatest and most reasonable message in the history of the universe! 1 Corinthians 1:18, shines some eye-opening light on the counterfeiters. 1 Corinthians 1:18 says \u201c. . . the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.\u201d It makes you wonder are the publishers of these counterfeits saved?<\/li>
    3. 1 Corinthians 6:9: The counterfeits change the word \u201ceffeminate\u201d to \u201chomosexual\u201d or \u201cmale prostitutes\u201d. This dilutes the serious warning of just the appearance or mannerism (effeminate) to the sexual act of homosexuals.<\/li>
    4. 2 Corinthians 2:17: The counterfeits change the word \u201ccorrupt the word of God\u201d to \u201cpeddling (or selling) the word of God\u201d. An apparent attempt to hide what they are doing!<\/li>
    5. 2 Corinthians 10:5: The counterfeits change \u201cimaginations\u201d to \u201carguments\u201d or \u201cobstacles\u201d or \u201cspeculations.\u201d Sin begins \u2013 in our imaginations!<\/li>
    6. Colossians 1:14: Many counterfeits remove the phrase \u201cthrough his blood\u201d. Salvation is only \u201cthrough his blood\u201d. Without shedding of blood is no remission of sins (Hebrews 9:22)<\/li>
    7. 1 Thessalonians 5:22: They change \u201call appearance of evil\u201d to \u201cevery form (or kind) of evil\u201d.<\/li>
    8. 1 Timothy 3:16: Many counterfeits change the crucial word \u201cGod\u201d to the unmodified, vague pronoun \u201che\u201d. This is the clearest verse in the Bible stating that Jesus Christ was \u201cGod manifest in the flesh\u201d and the counterfeits destroy it.<\/li>
    9. 1 Timothy 6:10: The counterfeits add the words \u201ckinds of\u201d. This addition dilutes the conclusive statement, \u201c. . .the love of money is the root of all evil\u201d to the subjective \u201c. . .the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil\u201d.<\/li>
    10. 2 Timothy 2:15: The counterfeits remove the word \u201cstudy\u201d. The counterfeits do not want you to study your Bible. You might just find out they are mutilating it.<\/li>
    11. Revelation 1:5: Many counterfeits change the wonderful words \u201cwashed us from our sins in his own blood,\u201d to \u201cloosed\u201d or \u201cfreed\u201d us from our sins. Revelation 1:5 is the only verse in the Bible that says you are washed in the blood \u2013 and the counterfeits destroy it. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
