They sought and hired some of the wisest mathematicians,\narchitects, masons, and engineers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Detailed,\nprecise plans were designed. Different locations were examined, and finally the\nright site was surveyed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nconstruction began. Thousands of men and women were engaged in the mammoth\ntask. Many were slaves. Stonecutters were sent to the task to provide one to\nten-ton limestone blocks. The stones were slid along cobbled roadways or\nbrought in by barges. It was a grueling task. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many\ndied from the heat, lack of food, and from tragedies in handling the massive\nblocks. Each block was transported to the building site. Slowly, with much\ncare, the blocks were put in their precise, designed-for position. Block after\nblock was hoisted by many workers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\nwas a tedious work of many, many years. At last, the work was done. The tomb of\nthe Pharaoh was completed. The pyramid was a marvel of precision. Blocks,\nwithout mortar, were laid so closely together that not even a matchbook cover\ncould be placed between many of the joints. The Pharaoh looked upon it with his\nage-dimmed eyes, knowing that one day he would be buried in a hidden room\namidst the tons of limestone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally,\nthe Pharaoh died. His corpse was prepared with herbs, ointments, and linen\nwrappings. His prearranged orders were carried out. The Pharaoh\u2019s body, his\nfaithful servants, wives, pets, and many of his prized possessions were sealed,\nsometimes alive, with him in the tomb. He believed that in the next life he\nwould be able to enjoy all his earthly treasures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thousands\nof years later, his treasures are still there, if they have not been plundered\nby thieves or taken away to museums. He found out too late, as will many\nmillions, that no matter the provision, one cannot take anything from this life\ninto the next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\npeople have trusted in the shed blood of Jesus Christ for their salvation, they\nhave the promise of Heaven, but what will they find awaiting them there? Their\nearthly treasures will be left behind where the moths will consume them, will\ndecay by rust, or taken by thieves or relatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After\na person is saved, he has a responsibility to live and serve the Lord. In doing\nso, He will be rewarded for what he has done for the Lord. His obedience and\nmuch of what he has done for the Lord will be remembered. Much of what he has\ndone here will send everlasting treasures ahead to a heavenly \u201cbank account\u201d\nwhere it will be appreciated later in eternity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cBut\nlay up for your selves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth\ncorrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:\u201d Matthew 6:20<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nyou are saved, have you deposited into that heavenly \u201caccount\u201d? You cannot take\nyour treasures with you when you leave this life. The Hearse that drives your\nbody to its resting place will not have a trailer-hitch to take your valuables\nwith you. Send your \u201ctreasures\u201d ahead by doing as the Lord shows and commands\nyou now where they will draw heavenly interest rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cNo man can tell whether\nhe is rich or poor by turning to his accounting ledger.&nbsp; It is the heart that makes a man rich.&nbsp; He is rich according to what he is, not\naccording to what he has.\u201d <\/strong><em>\u2014 Eliot<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Heart Problems<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Bill Brinkworth<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today there are many\nexcuses available for mistakes or problems in our life. Psychologists sometimes\nblame a patient\u2019s problem on environment. Social workers label many behaviors\nas peer-pressure related. Income, hereditary, age, and race are also some of\nthe popular excuses for any wrongdoing or mistakes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes the excuses\nare legitimate, but many times they are scapegoat excuses for the real source\nof the problem. The Bible speaks of the \u201cheart\u201d as the origin of many wrongdoings\nand wickedness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By \u201cheart,\u201d it is not referring\nto the blood-pumping organ, but more the center of thoughts, feelings, and our\nwill. Not always are our evil thoughts generated by brain impulses. There is no\nlocation where a surgeon could, under dissection, point to and identify as\n\u201cthis is where lying comes from,\u201d or \u201cthis organ generates the desire to\nsteal.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is this \u201cheart\u201d\nthat Mark speaks of when he writes, <em>\u201cAnd he saith unto them, Are ye so\nwithout understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from\nwithout entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19 Because it entereth not\ninto his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all\nmeats? 20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.<\/em>\u201d\nMark 7:18-20. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things entering into\nthe body cannot make us do wrong unless our \u201cheart\u201d is in such a state as it would\nallow our bodies to perform the sin. Although many under the influence of drugs\nand alcohol do wrong things, it is not totally what went into their bloodstream\nthat is at fault. Their \u201cheart\u201d had to be in a tolerant-to-sin state to allow\nsuch a thing to happen in the first place. If this were not true, then anyone\npartaking of alcohol would have the same desire to fight, rape, curse, steal,\nand commit sin. This, however, does not happen every time booze is swallowed.\nThere is not a pill to force anyone to steal. There is not one bottle on the\nshelf that will make one sin. It is the already willing, desensitized-to-sin\nheart, which when normal moral-protecting inhibitions are weakened by the\ndepressing or stimulating effects of the drugs or alcohol, that allows one to\nsin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nothing entering the\nbelly can defile the man. There is not one un-Koshered pickle, third scoop of\nvanilla ice-cream or anything man puts into his mouth that he can blame as the\nreason for wrongdoing. Most of the time, no one physically made you do wrong;\nit was a heart decision. The source of sin generates from man\u2019s own \u201cheart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;\u201cI have inclined mine heart to perform thy\nstatutes alway, even unto the end.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><em>Psalm 119:112<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Horse That Was Established<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>D. L. Moody<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was a little boy that got saved, and he was full\nof praise and eagerness to do God\u2019s will. When God converts a person, his heart\nwill be full of joy.&nbsp; That young man was\njoyful and always found something to praise the Lord about. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His father professed to be a Christian. The boy\nwondered why his dad did not talk about Christ and did not go down to the church\nmeetings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One day, as the father was reading the papers, the boy\ncame to him and put his hand on his dad\u2019s shoulder and said, \u201c&#8217;Why don&#8217;t you\npraise God? Why don&#8217;t you sing about Christ? Why don&#8217;t you go down to these\nmeetings that are being held?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The father opened his eyes, and looked at him and\nsaid, gruffly, \u201cI am not carried away with any of those doctrines. I am\nestablished.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few days later, they were getting a load of wood.\nThey put it on the cart. The father and the boy got on top of the load and\ntried to get the horse to go. They used the whip, but the horse wouldn&#8217;t move.\nThey got off and tried to roll the wagon along, but they could move neither the\nwagon nor the horse. \u201cI wonder what&#8217;s the matter?\u201d said the father. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe&#8217;s established,\u201d replied the boy. You may laugh at\nthat, but that is the way with a good many \u201cChristians.\u201d&nbsp; They are still doing their will and do not\nseek God\u2019s way very often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;\u201cYe stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and\nears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.\u201d <\/strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>Acts 7:51<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The President Believed the Bible<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Woodrow Wilson, 28<sup>th<\/sup> President<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our civilization cannot survive materially, unless it is redeemed spiritually. The Bible is the word of life. I beg that you will read it and find this out for yourself.
