However, when we overlook the most obvious aspect of the\nKingdom of God, we miss the key to understanding its true nature. Our\nunderstanding of the character of any kingdom must begin with the <strong>King<\/strong> \u2013 not its subjects. All kingdoms\nhave laws, ordinances, rulers, and those appointed to carry out the will of the\nking. The vast majority of subjects and citizens of any kingdom are not\nappointed or commissioned to function within it. The majority of citizens are\nonly the beneficiaries of that kingdom. Likewise, when understanding the\nKingdom of God, we must not limit our focus to its earthly citizens. <strong>The kingdom is all about the King.<\/strong> Our\nGod is a God of order. The Kingdom of God is not one of mystical disorder. He\nhas literal laws and ordinances and an executor to carry out His will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nKingdom of God is not political.\nThe unbelieving Pharisees demanded of Christ to see a political kingdom. The\nJewish idea of the Messianic Kingdom was that of a political, conquering force.\nBut the Lord answered them <strong>\u201cThe kingdom\nof God cometh not with observation:\u201d<\/strong> (<strong>Luke\n17:20<\/strong>). In other words, it was not set up with an observable political\ndomain, as a political system. He then told these lost, unbelieving religious\nleaders: <strong>\u201cbehold, the kingdom of God is\nwithin you.\u201d <\/strong>Obviously, the Kingdom of God was not mystically residing\nwithin the hearts of these who reject Christ. But it was literally in their\nmidst among them. The kingdom of God was present and operational within the\nvery sphere of those who rejected the King. So it is still today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thomas E.
