This\naspect of the prospective fullness of the kingdom is sometimes taken to\nexclusion of the present. When the Lord returns to rule in the millennium, the\nkingdom of God will be literally realized on earth. Therefore, the New\nTestament church is commissioned to prepare the way for the coming rule of our\nKing. This is in similarity to the role of John the Baptist. This is NOT to be\nconfused with the Catholic\/Protestant aspect of using human government to\ninstitute a millennium of our own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lord\u2019s\nchurch is commissioned to preach the gospel, baptize the saved, and teach the\nlaws and ordinances of His kingdom to those who will teach others. (<strong>Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Timothy 2:2<\/strong>). The\nNew Testament church is given full authority to bind and loose, which is\nrecognized in heaven (<strong>Matthew 18:18<\/strong>).\nIt is also commissioned to plant other New Testament churches by the authority\nof Christ vested in it. (As given in the great commission and demonstrated in\nthe Acts of the Apostles). All of these things are for the purpose and\nexpectation of the coming King who will physically rule on this earth.\nTherefore, the kingdom He set up in His earthly ministry is in occupation and\npreparation mode while awaiting the arrival of its sovereign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;(to be CONTNUED \u2013 The Coming Kingdom #2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thomas E.
