“The Death of the Righteous”
“Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not
resist you. ” James 5:6

We read in the Scripture where men have killed the
righteous. Think of our Saviour, Who willingly gave His life
into the hands of sinful man. Organized religion, money, and
power are what motivated men to crucify Christ. We know
this was a part of God’s plan but every man involved made a
conscious decision in the matter.

I think about men like Stephen, who died at the feet of Saul
of Tarsus; James, who died at the hand of Herod; and many
others are mentioned throughout the Bible and church history.
Their bravery and Christianity marked society. The warfare
they faced was spiritual, not physical.
Satan uses evil men of this world to falsely condemn and
kill the just. Though they go silently to their graves, the voices
of the martyrs ring out through the ages. The cross cannot be
ignored, the church still marches on, and Christianity has
spread to the four corners of the world. The declaration is that
God will win and the devil loses. Righteousness will prevail
over unrighteousness.

One day the record is set and every knee is going to bow
before the Judge of this earth. Those who are found in Him
will rejoice and those that rejected Him will suffer eternal
damnation. The heathen will receive their reward for the
wrong they have done, and the just will be rewarded for their
faithfulness to Christ. Those who gave their lives for the cause
of Christ will reign with Him on high! Praise God! -R.G.
