| WHO ARE YOU LISTENING TO? CHARLES CURTMAN Dec 2, 2025 I’m asked now and then to name preachers whose messages I have especially enjoyed and benefited from throughout the years. I always answer that it has only been during the last few years that I’ve had the luxury or benefit of listening to other preachers, online or otherwise, due to the busy schedule I’ve had as a preacher and pastor for over fifty years. Now I have more opportunity to listen to the messages of others. At the top of my list of preachers now in heaven, whose recorded sermons I enjoy and benefit from, are men like Adrian Rogers, John Philips and Martin Lloyd Jones. The names Ronnie Sutton, Joe Bryant, and Billy Mitchell also immediately come to mind. So do the names A. V. Henderson, John Britton, E. F. Gibson, Kenneth Gibson, Harold Leytham, and C. D. Walker. There are many others I could mention. The preachers still living who I especially esteem not only for their work’s sake, but also for their godly personal testimonies, would make a long list. These preachers are almost all pastors—men who have the greatest calling and who are doing the greatest, most significant work in the world. Access to good preaching has never been more possible and easy than it is now. Good preaching is at the top of the list of gifts that keep on giving.
