Reaping Later – II Timothy 2:2

“Reaping Later”
“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many
witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be
able to teach others also.” II Timothy 2:2
Since what the Bible says is true, we must continually be
training young men and women. Most folk don’t consider the
long-term reaping from our Christian life. One pediatrician in
California found that out on March 29, 2011. The doctor was
trapped in a burning car after being hit by a semi-truck in
Orange County. The firemen and paramedics arrived quickly
and one of the paramedics pulled the doctor out of his burning
vehicle. The paramedics began their all-important work on
the way to the hospital. It took forty-five days for the doctor to
recover from the burns, wounds and internal injuries.
One of the paramedics found out that it was the same
pediatrician that saved his life when he was a premature infant.
He had been given only a 50% chance of living. The
pediatrician had worked around the clock to save the baby’s
life. Now, here it was thirty years later, and he had a large part
in saving the doctor’s life!
The paramedic is now a father himself and chose the
pediatrician that saved his life and the doctor that had saved
his, to be their child’s pediatrician! I really don’t wonder why!
We must train ministry servants, and we must train our
children for marriage and life. The life you rescue may
eventually be your own! Remember, only what’s done for
Christ will really matter in the long run. Keep on encouraging,
training and mentoring. – C.S.
