The Immigrant Saint Genesis 12:1 (KJB)
“The Immigrant Saint”
“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will chew thee: ” Genesis 12:1
This writer has heard countless testimonies of individuals whom God dealt with severely before they would move out into the realm of His perfect will. One pastor friend told me it cost him the fellowship of his denomination. It cost him the church he was pastoring and even the life of his only son. He had to be made very miserable on the sharp thorns, hard rocks and miserable sticks of suffering, sorrow and trouble before he would move on. I can also say by experience, God allowed misery, loneliness, disappointment and sorrow to come my way before I would obey His will. I had to break with the darling things of this world to find my place of happiness in the will of Christ. One cannot move east without leaving the west. We can’t move toward God without moving away from the world. God stirred up the nest of Abram, the great man of faith. He was told to leave his country and family and go to a strange land. He dwelt in tents and tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob. He found here, no enduring city, but declared himself a pilgrim and stranger in search of a city, whose builder and maker was God. All true saints are immigrants in this world. They are waiting also for directions to the same city Abraham sought. — K.M. February 26, 2020
