05/16/2022 · Baptist preachers were well represented in the State of Vermont, in 1844, with Baptists at 88; Free Will Baptist with 43, and the Reformed Baptists having 1. The Baptist total for the Green Mountain State was 132. Vermont’s total clergy count stood at 605, Baptists represented less than 25% of clergy in Vermont. The ministerial count was at one per 482 citizens. According to a study performed by Statista in 2009, there were about 334,000 ministers in the US with a Church going population of 70 million in America (according to Gallup, 2010), which works out to about 1 preacher for every 209 members. Baptist preachers make up more than 110,000 or nearly 1/3 of all preachers in the United States being Baptist.Citations: Richmond Weekly Palladium, Richmond, Indiana, January 17, 1845https://www.statista.com/…/number-of-ordained-clergy…/https://news.gallup.com/…/church-membership-falls-below…View insights28 post reach
