Honoring Husbands
Sisters, when is the last time you truly paused to express gratitude and appreciation to your husband?
When is the last time you…
-Cooked his favorite meal or dessert just because you love him?
-Packed his lunch for work with care?
-Wrote him a note or love letter?
-Let him choose where to go out to eat without complaint?
-Gave him a massage after a long day?
-Held your tongue instead of speaking a negative or critical word?
-Chose not to nag, but to encourage instead?
-Walked in the spirit of being his helper rather than his critic?
-Intentionally treated him with honor as your husband?
-Shared intimacy with warmth and willingness?
-Spoke well of him to others instead of tearing him down?
-Surprised him with something thoughtful, just because?
Many husbands work hard day after day and ask for very little in return. A man who feels respected, appreciated, well-fed, supported, and cherished at home is often a strengthened and content man.
Scripture reminds us:
“However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.” — Ephesians 5:33
“Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.” — Colossians 3:19
A wife who intentionally and consistently chooses to give her husband respect, love, and appreciation brings glory to the Lord. She does it not because he always earns it, but because she offers it freely, without demands, and ultimately unto Christ.
