Baptist History, Heritage & Distinctives Daniel Merrill is at a fork in the road as he agonizes over the doctrine of baptism by immersion. He has a large Protestant church and their tradition is to sprinkle babies for baptism. He is discovering that there is no Biblical reference for this practice. Now he faced with the fact he has been teaching and preaching an erroneous doctrine all these years. Pastor Merrill has the task of admitting his error and facing the consequences. He wonders if anything he did for the cause of Christ will come out of the fires of judgment. All these years he has labored as a Protestant he is facing cold hard reality; he may even lose his church and people are going to be upset.Thomas E.
